Birth Certificates 

  • The office only issues certificates for births that occurred in Kendall County Illinois from 1877 – present.
  • Kendall County does not have a hospital, if birth occurred at Rush Copley contact Kane County. 
  • For births outside of Kendall County Illinois, please contact the county in which the event occurred. 
  • For births outside of the State of Illinois, please contact the state in which the event occurred.

 

New Birth Certificates 

  • Certificates for new births typically take up to 2 weeks to become available. While the Kendall County Clerk strives to provide this service as quickly as possible, the information must first be received from the birthing center or parents and uploaded into State of Illinois records system.
  • The County Clerk's Office processes orders within 2 business days once the information is available.

 

Marriage Certificates and Civil Unions

  • This office issues marriage certificates for marriages that occurred in Kendall County Illinois from 1841 – present.
  • The individuals listed on the marriage certificates/civil union are entitled to obtain the certificates

  • The office issues civil union certificates that occurred in Kendall County, Illinois from 2011-present.

 

Death Certificates 

  • This office only issues certificates for deaths that occurred in Kendall County Illinois from 1877 – present.
  • For deaths outside of Kendall County Illinois, please contact the County in which the event occurred.
  • For deaths outside of the State of Illinois, please contact the state in which the event occurred.

 

Attention Applicants 

  • If you are applying for your own Birth Certificate and you have changed your name since birth, (Marriage, Legal Name Change, Adoption) please enter the reason for your name change in the 'Special Instructions' field on Step 4 of the application.
